Summer

In summer, our western dinner dance takes on a casual theme as the festivities move to our unforgettable Chuckwagon Grounds. This picturesque outdoor setting is located along the bank of the Maroon Creek and is surrounded by towering Colorado spruce trees. There you’ll experience an old-fashioned cook-out under the western sky.

The evening starts with a 25 minute horse-drawn wagon ride through the Maroon Creek Valley towards the Maroon Bells. This spectacular mountain is the most photographed peak in North America.

Back at the Chuckwagon Grounds, authentic old wagons, stagecoaches and surreys dot the grounds. The stage, seating and dance floor are sheltered from the weather by rustic log beams and a pavilion style overhang laced high up into the trees. Silent radiant heat located in the roof takes the chill off the Aspen air. A massive open air bonfire ring beckons all to come nearer.

Dinner is an authentic western barbecue buffet, complete with hickory-smoked chicken, mouth-watering barbecued ribs and all the fixin’s – even s’mores over an open fire.

The finale to the evening is live country western music from The Double Diamond Band (click here for a music sample). There, under the stars, dance your heart out!
